General information
Here is a workshop where you are welcome, if you are competent, to hire equipment to saw, plane, thickness and sand your projects. We have panel saws, an edge bander and a hinge drill for manufactured board work. Planers, thicknessers, bandsaws, sanders and more for solid timber work. Our aim is to maintain machines to be accurate to ±1mm. You are welcome to visit and inspect the equipment to see what you can do but please phone to book time on machines and an operator if necessary. Operators are not always available and we do not provide a design service.
We stock a wide range of board products including MDF, particle board and plywood with access to a huge range of melamine, veneered board and laminates in various sizes, colours, finishes and species. We stock cabinet timbers including Radiata and Hoop Pine, Silky and Tasmanian Oak, NG Rosewood, Kwila and Red Cedar.
Once you have planned your job and are ready to machine it, phone 3274 5677 to book time on the machines and an operator if you are not competent.
How it works
When you are ready to begin your work session see WNY staff for a tag which enables you to use the workshop and allows the computer to track usage by the minute (or part of). From the time you receive an activated tag until you have finished work in WNY premises you will be charged under the roof (UTR). Mostly machine charges apply only while the machine is tagged on (the blue light is on). WNY staff can explain further and demonstrate.
Instruction
Although most of our customers are trade qualified, we offer handymen/women the opportunity to learn to use our industrial woodworking machines with one on one instruction. Booking is essential.
Booking information
Our customers try to run on time. Please be aware there could be bookings before and after yours. If necessary we may have to reschedule your machining for another time due to other bookings.
